The Association of Associations was a primitive hunter/gatherer/farming society. It was first discovered by Rita Nuu-Longknife and her crew of SHS Furious. Rita and her crew were themselves lost because they had made a bad jump.

Kris Longknife learned that the Association consisted of more than one avian species and that Grandma Rita sometimes referred to them as the "Flock of Flocks;" Rita cautioned Kris against doing that. Among the species were those referred to as Roosters and Ostriches.
The elders of the Association enjoyed a great deal of control over the civilization but their control diminished after the arrival the arrival of Kris's command and its consumer goods.
